The gestation period of rats is on average 21 to 23 days. Conceptus can be detected by ultrasonography after the 8‐9th days pregnancy. total number fetuses per pregnancy 1 20. In some cases, abortion occurs depending many etiological factors, and it most common complication subject present case report was surgical management spontaneous using inhalation anesthesia in a rat. material female albino 2‐year‐ old rat weighing about 450 gr. admitted with vaginal bleeding clinic. anamnesis, reported that pup stillborn three hours ago then no other delivered. Furthermore, informed there ongoing since last 4‐5 hours. Upon physical examination ultrasonography, diagnosed as abortion. It decided intervene surgery. premedicated subcutaneously atropine sulphate general induced isoflurane through inhalation. Then, celiotomy performed at cauda umbilicus. total, 13 non viable were removed from both uterine horns. Incision wounds sutured evenly awakened discharged. conclusion, successfully
